So, it finally got reasonably cool and fall-like here in central Texas and I decided (or perhaps it was a genetically triggered craving) that I wanted a bit of Pumpkin Pie to match the nice, crisp weather.
On my way home from work I stopped off at the nearest groceryarium to pick up a “fresh” Pumpkin Pie. I perused the bakery section for a few minutes but found only an assortment of jack-o-lantern shaped cookies, muffins and one or two apple and pecan pies. Not a Pumpkin Pie to be found. Curses!
Oh well, I’ll just pick up one in the frozen foods section. Sounds reasonable, right? Apparently not. Again, the Apple Pie is represented and French Silk (Chocolate Cream) Pie are stacked up like cord-wood. No damn Pumpkin. Not a one.
What. The. Hell.
So I was forced (Forced I tell you!) to buy a can of Pumpkin Pie mix, some sweetened-condensed milk and a package of pie crusts (I happened to have eggs at home).. so that I could make my own goddamn Pumpkin Pie! What has this country come to when a single guy has to bake his own pie.. it’s just not right..
So, I sit here waiting for my pies to bake.. waiting.. soooo long.. arrrrgh!
But they smell good..
I should probably watch some football to counter-balance the domesticness of baking my own pie..
Mmm.. Pumpkin..

We spent the entire day at work moving out of the old “office space” and into the new location..
The new place is much nicer, but probably not quite big enough.. definately not big enough for all the crap we now have piled everywhere.
On the plus side, I think we’re done.. maybe.. hopefully.. with the big stuff anyway. And I only lost a minor amount of blood.. and no major or minor appendages.

So, like.. after 2 years or so of procrastination, I finally finished one (out of several, unfortunately) of my “minor” home improvement projects.. actually thats not true.. it is only 99.875% done.. apparently I underestimated the amount of trim I needed, so I have to go buy some more, paint it, stick it up and then do some touch up painting, mainly to fix all the scuff marks I created while putting up said trim.. but that shouldnt take more than 6 or 7 months..
Still, its nice to have it (almost) done!

Much like Halloween, Christmas used to be a favorite holiday.. and to an extent.. I guess it still is.. but it definately has had some seriously depressing overtones the last few years..
Oh well..

You know, usually Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.. always has been, ever since I was a kid.. but this year for some reason.. I’m just not feeling it..
I’ve got absolutely no inspiration for a costume.. no pumpkin at my front door(although, last week I had 2 pumpkins I carved at a party, but they were starting to implode).. no other decorations or anything.. not even sure if I’m going out at all tonight.. may just stay home and watch the idiot-box..
