Uvalde Fudge

From Austin American Statesman – "Mrs Dolph Briscoe" ~1975

4 cups sugar
1 tall can evaporated milk
1 stick butter
pinch of salt
mix above ingredients and boil for 7 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid sticking

Have ready in large mixing bowl:
4 pkg (small) chocolate chips
1 jar of marshmallow cream
1 tablespoon vanilla

1 quart chopped pecans

Pour hot mixture over contents of bowl and mix with electric mixer

Stir in pecans

Pour into sheet cake pan, let cool, cut into squares.

Makes about 5lbs
